Cardinals Try to Limit Opposing Fans in Stadium
A new plan being implemented by the Arizona Cardinals seeks to limit the number of opposing teams' fans in Phoenix University Stadium, which has continually sold out. For the first two seasons since the new stadium opened, the Cardinals sold out every game. But as the third season approaches, ticket sales have slowed somewhat. As a result, Cardinals managers are seeking to require fans who buy tickets to the Oct. 12 game against the Dallas Cowboys to also buy tickets to the Aug. 7 season opener against the New Orleans Saints. "Our goal is to have as many Cardinal fans in the stadium as possible," team spokesman Mark Dalton said. The Cards have created a decisive home field advantage in the past two seasons and want to keep that up, Dalton said. Dalton estimated about 58,000 season tickets have been sold. Ideally, the Cardinals would like to sell about 60,000 season tickets and hold back 3,000 or so to sell for individual games.

Batman Bale Arrested For Assault
The star of the latest Batman movie that is currently breaking box office records has been released on bail after being arrested by London police over allegations he assaulted his mother and sister.
Variety magazine reports that Bale, 34, was arrested and held for more than four hours on Tuesday after he went to the London police station by appointment.
Bale's mother and sister complained to police they were assaulted by the Welsh-born actor at the Dorchester Hotel in London on Sunday night, a day before the European premiere of "The Dark Knight".
The Central London police did not refer to Bale by name as he has not been formally charged, but a police spokeswoman said: "A 34-year-old man attended a Central London police station this morning by appointment and was arrested in connection with an allegation of assault."
Bale's representatives in the US and England did not comment over the allegations.
The Dark Knight, which stars the late Aussie actor Heath Ledger as The Joker, raked in US$155.3 million over its opening weekend to surpass the previous record holder for the highest grossing weekend of all time, Spider-Man 3, which grossed US$151.1 million at US box offices last year in its debut weekend.
