153 CACS selected for NGAUS Mission Support Trophy
CHEYENNE (WYANG) - The Wyoming Air National Guard's 153rd Command and Control Squadron was selected for the National Guard Association of the United States Mission Support Trophy.
The award recognizes non-flying units on the basis of their overall operational readiness during the reporting year as well as their performance in relation to all other Air National Guard non-flying units. Selection is based on such criteria as operational readiness inspections; special missions; deployments; exercises; outstanding accomplishments; unit manning levels; attendance; retention and skill level qualifications.
The joint mission of the 153 CACS is to provide a mobile, survivable and endurable command, control, and communications, support for the commander, North American Aerospace Defense Command and United States Northern Command in conjunction with Air Force Space Command's Mobile Consolidated Command Center and other agencies.
Some of the unit's accomplishments include:
* Participated in 40 major deployment and proof of concept
events.
* Recognized for outstanding command and control ratings.
* Continues to establish the standard producing outstanding
rating in 22 national-level exercises.
"CACS has been honored with the Cheyenne Trophy in 2007 as the best squadron in the Wyoming Air National Guard presented to the unit by the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce. Distinction was also placed on the unit with the presentation of the Outstanding Unit Award in 2007. With these public accolades combined with those that are mission and unit justified for excellence, the Airmen of the 153rd Command and Control Squadron have my highest praise," said Maj. Gen. Ed Wright, Wyoming's adjutant general.
